In June 2018 we supplied The Sir Peter Blake Trust with 650 ØPACKS for them to send out their Young Leader Award Packs to schools around the country. Sir Peter Blake, KBE (1 October 1948 - 5 December 2001) was a true New Zealand hero. A living legend. A memorable leader who inspired the country and the world with his prowess on the water, his dedication to the environment, and his red socks. After his death, Pippa, Lady Blake and his family established a trust in his name, a not-for-profit organisation to help New Zealanders make a positive difference for the planet through activities that encourage environmental awareness and action, and leadership development. The Sir Peter Blake Trust was established in 2004 - the government endowed the Trust with $1 for every New Zealander and twelve years on the Trust and Sir Peter’s leadership legacy in NZ is stronger than ever. Our point of difference is our network of outstanding leaders and our extraordinary leadership and environmental programmes. In his final ship's log onboard Seamaster, Sir Peter wrote: "We want to restart people caring for the environment as it must be cared for. And at the same time we want to do this through adventure, through participation, through education and through enjoyment. To win, you have to believe you can do it. You have to be passionate about it. You have to really ‘want’ the result – even if this means years of work. The hardest part of any big project is to begin. We have begun – we are underway – we have a passion. We want to make a difference.” The Trust stands true to his statement, and we use it as our line of sight back to what we are trying to achieve year on year.
