Frustrated with a lack of swimwear that made her feel confident or resembled her own style while she travelled and surfed, Hakea is her solution. The latest collection features hand painted prints by local Melbourne artist Zev Tropp across surf suits and interchangeable tops and bottoms made with Vita Xtra Life Lycra, an Italian fabric produced using ECONYL fibre, a recycled yarn made entirely from nylon waste including fishing nets from the oceans and fabric scraps from mills.
